About Us

Who we are?

The Vanda Foundation is a non-profit organization focused on supporting projects and initiatives that bring positive changes in the areas of education, science, technology, culture, and healthcare in Slovakia. We believe that even small acts can have a big impact, which is why we strive to help those who have good ideas but lack the necessary resources to implement them. We are committed to supporting initiatives that contribute to a better future for young people in Slovakia.

DECA GJH

DECA GJH is the first student business club DECA in Slovakia, operating at the Jur Hronec Gymnasium. It is part of the international DECA organization, which helps students develop entrepreneurial, financial, and marketing skills through projects, simulations, and competitions. Members learn to analyze real business situations, create strategies, and effectively present their ideas, which helps them prepare for careers in business, economics, and management. Additionally, students learn to work in teams, solve problems under time pressure, and adapt to changing market conditions. Participation in the club allows them not only to gain theoretical knowledge but also practical experience that they can use in future studies or professional life. As the first DECA in Slovakia, we strive to build a community of young leaders who want to grow and succeed in the business world.

ICDC Competition

ICDC (International Career Development Conference) is the world's largest business competition for high school students, which this year will take place in Orlando, Florida in America. It annually brings together thousands of students from around the world and consists of solving case studies, role-play simulations, and presentations in front of an expert jury that evaluates their analytical abilities, strategic thinking, and communication skills.

DECA GJH will be the first Slovak team in the history of this prestigious competition. The participation of the DECA GJH team at ICDC will be a great opportunity for these high school students, as they will have the chance to compete against the best teams from around the world. From this competition, they will gain valuable experience, international contacts, and we will keep our fingers crossed for them to also achieve a medal placement.

How Vanda Foundation helped

Participation at ICDC requires significant financial costs, including registration fees, travel expenses, and accommodation. To enable DECA GJH members to represent Slovakia at this prestigious competition, Vanda Foundation created a crowdfunding campaign for them on Donio where you can also support them HERE.

As part of the campaign, the foundation introduced a matching program, through which for every euro raised, they will add their own euro, up to €1,000. This model makes it possible to double the contributions of supporters and increase the chances that the DECA GJH team will be able to compete at ICDC as the first Slovak team in history.

The support of Vanda Foundation thus helps not only in raising funds but also motivates the broader community to get involved and support young talents who want to advance to the international level.
